Various types of synthetic materials are used in the manufacturing of plastic lenses.
In general the higher level of thickness, the thinner the lens.
Standard lens thickness is suitable for a visual defect of up to ±2.00D.
Thinner glass with extra material thickness is suitable for a visual defect from ±2.00D to ±4.00D.
Extra thin glass with ultra material thickness is best suited to a visual defect from ±4.00D to ±6.00D.
